5 Ways To Treat Winter Skin!

Is winter wreaking havoc on your skin and nails. The one season out of the year; that depletes moisture and leaves me with dry and itchy skin. There are some steps that we all should take to replenish moisture, for healthy glowing skin all year round. Your Spring/Summer products may differ from your Fall/winter products.

5 ways to treat dry skin:

1.Water: this is a no brainer the body is made up of 70% water, 64 oz's a day. This includes, teas and 100% juices but water should be priority. If you're like me and get so busy you forget to stop and take a sip; download the water app on your phone, it's a great reminder. Smart water is great because it has about 3 servings and contains minerals. I prefer Ice Mountain, but my fave is Kiwaii, to me it taste better than Fiji and I'm a water snob or shall I say connoisseur .

2.Cleanse: All natural soaps and body washes are key to moisturized skin, while regular soaps contain harsh ingredients and chemicals that dry out the skin. Natural washes and soaps contain natural Aloe Vera, natural oils, and glycerin. These are natural humectants which dtaws moisture to the skin and hair.

3.Exfoliate: There are several ways to do this, dry brush with a long handled body brush or a vegan Loofah and Apricot or Walnut body scrub. For maximum results and smooth skin, I personally. Would use both methods. For the face use apricot of home made brown sugar scrub. However If you have sensitive skin I would use only a nonabrasive all natural sugar scrub for body and face.
4. Moisture: Again I recommend an all or mostly natural moisturizer; at least 96% or higher. These can vary from Aloe Vera, Shea, Mango and Cocoa butter, willowbark, Hylauronic acid, olive and Coconut oil,Pumpkin extract, Hemp seed, Avocado, Macadamia, Jojoba, and Sweet Almond oil etc.

5.Nutrition: Fruits, Vegetables, Avocado, Sweet Potato high in Vita A. Whole grains, Quinoa, Brown Rice, and Barley. Protein from baked Chicken or Fish, salmon is great because it contains Omega fatty acids, which plumps the skin and helps give it a glow. More and the best protein are nuts Almonds and Walnuts are some of the best. I also recommend beauty supplements containing biotin, MSM, Folic Acid, Collagen, Inositol, Zinc,Vitamin A, C,E and B complex. These nutrients revitalize and renew the skin, nails and hair which stimulates healthy growth. I use Rejuvicare and Hairfinity (link bottom of page) vitamins. will post a review when I reach my desired results.

5. Shower Water: If you notice that your tap water smells like bleach; it's because the water company uses Chlorine to kill harmful bacteria, microorganisms and pollutants. This is 1 of the main reasons that I refuse to drink tap water. The Chlorine is also harmful to hair and skin stripping Sebum, which is the natural oil our body secretes. This can cause the skin to become dry and irritated, as well as eye irritation, and even hair to become brittle. The best way to get rid of the Chlorine is with a shower filter, which filters out the chlorine. Prices vary from about $50 and up. The replacement filters run around $25.
